Description : My first full sculpture. The gargoyle has a long tradition :
“In Christian tradition, the meaning of a gargoyle is multifaceted: primarily, they are decorative water spouts designed to protect church masonry, but symbolically they serve as reminders of the ever-present nature of evil, sin, and potential damnation, urging the faithful to seek sanctuary and protection within the church.”
I find them fascinating and a great way to practice the graft of stone sculpture.
